Overview
Polytronix manufactures AS9100D-certified cockpit displays, panel assemblies, standby instruments, cabin management interfaces, electro-mechanical cockpit LRUs, retrofit STC interconnect harnesses, cabin management and lighting control PCBAs, and complete box-build avionics units for business jets, turboprops, and general aviation aircraft. Designed to enhance flight safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort, our business and general aviation solutions support OEM line-fit programs, Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) retrofit upgrades, panel refresh programs, and operator-driven flight deck modernization.
We replace legacy cathode-ray-tube (CRT) displays with high-resolution liquid crystal displays (LCDs), refresh aging analog instrumentation with digital flight displays, and integrate connected avionics suites, situational awareness, precision navigation, datalinks, ADS-B, traffic and weather radar, advanced sensors, and enhanced vision into new aircraft and legacy airframes.
We deliver sunlight-readable ruggedized LCDs, optically bonded cockpit displays, backlit instrument panels and bezels per MIL-DTL-7788 and QPL-7788 form factor, multi-function display modules, standby instrument displays, electronic standby indicator (ESI) assemblies, cabin management system (CMS) interfaces, and complete electro-mechanical panel assemblies. Display modules are environmentally aligned to MIL-DTL-7788 profiles and DO-160 test procedures to support the temperature, humidity, vibration, and altitude cycles characteristic of business jet and general aviation operations.
Internal wiring is built under IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2/3 with MIL-DTL-38999 and rectangular ARINC connectors, coaxial and RF assemblies for navigation, communications, and ADS-B, supporting both new-installation programs and STC retrofit kits. Polytronix delivers build-to-spec, design-collaborative, and reverse-engineered retrofit solutions under serialized configuration control with full FAA documentation, AS9100D quality, and ITAR-controlled production where applicable.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Who makes retrofit LCD kits to replace CRT displays in a business jet cockpit?
- Polytronix builds plug-and-play retrofit LCD upgrade kits that replace legacy CRT displays and analog instrumentation in business jet, turboprop, and general aviation cockpits. These are form-fit-function replacements supplied into Service Bulletin and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) retrofit programs run by OEMs, completion centers, MROs, and operators. The kits deliver brighter, higher-resolution presentation, run cooler, reduce display weight, improve reliability, and install with minimal aircraft downtime.
- How does Polytronix support an STC retrofit program?
- Polytronix produces STC kit hardware — interconnect harnesses, display modules, and panel assemblies — for completion centers, MROs, and operator-driven retrofit programs. Design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test engineering is applied at the proposal stage to support STC kit cost, certification timeline, and production yield, and reverse engineering of legacy form-fit-function envelopes enables drop-in installation. Harnesses are built under IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2/3 with MIL-DTL-38999 and rectangular ARINC connectors.
- What environmental qualification do Polytronix business aviation displays meet?
- Display modules and panels are environmentally aligned to MIL-DTL-7788 profiles and DO-160 test procedures, covering the temperature, humidity, vibration, and altitude cycles characteristic of business jet and general aviation operations, including extended unpressurized operation and ramp temperature extremes. Backlit panels follow MIL-DTL-7788 and QPL-7788 Type III, IV, V, VI, and VII, with MIL-STD-3009 NVIS compatibility where required. Manufacturing runs under AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015.
- Can Polytronix supply harnesses and RF assemblies for an ADS-B installation?
- Yes. Polytronix builds coaxial and RF assemblies, harnesses, and integration kits for ADS-B Out and ADS-B In installations, alongside GPS navigators, weather radar, traffic systems, and datalink avionics, supporting fleet-wide compliance and connectivity upgrades. Internal wiring is built under IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2/3 with MIL-DTL-38999 and rectangular ARINC connectors, sealed backshells, and shield-bonded terminations for both new-installation and retrofit kit programs.
- Where are Polytronix business aviation display modules and LRUs repaired?
- Repair and depot overhaul of display modules, instrument panels, harnesses, and avionics LRUs are performed at the FAA 14 CFR Part 145 repair station at our Richardson, Texas facility, which also carries EASA Part 145 recognition. This supports OEM warranty programs and operator depot returns across business jet and general aviation fleets.
