Salt fog, humidity, shock, vibration, and EMI-ready displays and consoles for naval, commercial, offshore, and workboat fleets.

Polytronix manufactures marine displays, bridge and combat consoles, engine room and damage control panels, conformal-coated marine PCBAs, sealed shipboard harnesses, and naval LRUs — ruggedized to MIL-STD-810 salt fog and humidity profiles and shield-bonded for MIL-STD-461 EMI control.

Overview

Polytronix manufactures bridge displays, combat system consoles, navigation interfaces, engine room panels, damage control consoles, deck equipment displays, conformal-coated marine PCB assemblies, sealed shipboard cable and harness systems, and complete box-build naval and commercial marine LRUs. Our maritime display and panel solutions are engineered for the shipboard environment: continuous salt fog and humidity exposure, sustained vibration from hull-mounted machinery, wide thermal swings between engine spaces and weather decks, and the long mission profiles characteristic of naval combatant, auxiliary, commercial cargo, offshore platform, fishing, and patrol vessel service.

We deliver dependable solutions for safe and efficient navigation, supporting integrated bridge systems (IBS), navigation portfolios including compass, radar, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, GMDSS, and autopilot, and combat system interfaces that enhance maritime safety, reduce operational cost, and serve merchant vessels, naval platforms, and recreational craft across the full lifecycle of the ship. Display modules and panels are designed and ruggedized to MIL-STD-810 salt fog, humidity, vibration, and shock profiles representative of shipboard service.

We deliver sunlight-readable ruggedized LCDs, optically bonded marine displays, backlit instrument and control panels, NVIS-compatible bridge displays for darkened-bridge naval operations, and complete electro-mechanical console assemblies with environmental sealing, gasketed enclosures, and conformally coated PCB assemblies. Cable and harness integration follows IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2/3 with sealed backshells, marine-grade circular and rectangular connectors, potted and over-molded terminations, RF and coaxial assemblies for shipboard radar and communications, and shield-bonding for EMI control aboard steel hulls.

Polytronix supports naval and commercial marine OEM customers under ITAR-controlled production where applicable, with AS9100D-certified quality, MIL-STD-810 alignment, and serialized configuration control. Our integrated cable, panel, PCBA, and box build operations deliver complete naval consoles, bridge interfaces, and damage control panels as build-to-print or design-collaborative deliverables, including aftermarket retrofit and sustainment programs supporting long-life naval and commercial fleet platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which naval and commercial marine vessel programs does Polytronix serve?
Polytronix supplies marine OEM customers across naval combatant, auxiliary, commercial cargo, offshore platform, fishing, and patrol vessel programs, under ITAR-controlled production where applicable with AS9100D-certified quality and serialized configuration control. Work is delivered build-to-print or design-collaborative, and includes aftermarket retrofit kits that replace legacy CRT displays, console refresh programs, and depot-level repair and overhaul for long-life fleet sustainment.
What environmental qualification applies to Polytronix shipboard displays and consoles?
Display modules and panels are designed and ruggedized to MIL-STD-810 salt fog, humidity, vibration, and shock profiles representative of shipboard service, with MIL-STD-461 EMI/EMC requirements addressed through shield-bonding aboard steel hulls. Assemblies use environmental sealing, gasketed enclosures, and conformally coated PCBAs, and cable integration follows IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2/3 with sealed backshells and potted or over-molded marine-grade terminations.
Does Polytronix build displays and consoles for bridge and navigation system OEMs?
Yes. Polytronix builds the display, panel, and console assemblies a bridge or navigation system OEM specifies: sunlight-readable ruggedized LCDs, optically bonded marine displays, backlit control panels and switch bezels, bridge and combat console box builds, and the sealed shipboard harnesses and conformal-coated PCBAs inside them. Polytronix supplies that hardware to the system OEM, build-to-print or developed with its engineering team; it does not make the navigation, radar, or sonar electronics itself.
Does Polytronix supply NVIS-compatible displays for darkened-bridge operations?
Yes. NVIS-compatible bridge displays are built per MIL-STD-3009 for darkened-bridge naval operations, alongside backlit control panels and switch bezels. These integrate into complete electro-mechanical console assemblies with environmental sealing and gasketed enclosures suited to bridge and weather-deck installation.
Who makes rugged marine monitors for naval applications?
Polytronix builds rugged marine monitors and shipboard consoles in Richardson, Texas, under AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015, at prototype and low-MOQ volumes as well as production quantities. Display, optical bonding, backlit panel, cable and harness, PCBA, and box-build operations are in-house, so the monitor, its bezel, its sealed harness, and the console it mounts into are sealed, gasketed, and shield-bonded as one assembly rather than as separately sourced parts.
